    Assistant director of Youth and Sports Department Mazlan Anis said although there were many great contributions by youths, some Malaysian youths were perceived as irresponsible lot involved in many socials ills, citing the drug mule problem as an example. “Problems of drug addiction and trafficking among youths are very important issues that need to be addressed. “Even our graduates were caught overseas trafficking drugs,” said Mazlan during the opening of the Miri Divisional Level Youth Associations Conference held by Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat. As such, he urged youth organisations to play an active role in solving these problems.

      I’m not sure what power does “youth organization” have over crimes. Perhaps he is suggesting that the police or customs are hopeless? :-p

    According to Ripin, youths who are registered voters are responsible and more inclined to grow into mature and rational persons as well as being able to distinguish between good and bad in life. “We firmly believed that a mature and rational generation of youth could help reduced social ills like drug addictions and casual sex among youths,” he said.

      I’m not staying in KL, I’m in Singapore ….
      literally, I grew up in Singapore though that explains why i do not have friends in Miri.

    Done configuring WordPress using the P2 Theme. Hope it works as a good Miri social group chat setup to replace IRC.

      Before I forget, new users can register via single sign-on using existing account in Facebook, Twitter, OpenID, Google, Yahoo, Windows Live, Linkedin, etc. Let me know if it doesn’t work. I think the registration system may ask for valid email address too.

          Just logout, you will see the FB logo either at the sidebar, or at the Register page. Click on it, and follow the simple approval step in the pop-up window.

      Think I found a bug which shows inaccurate avatars for new post. Maybe it was caused by the sticky above it. Will take a look at it shortly.

      Test embedding a YouTube video. MiriChat.net now supports YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe, Liveleak and Facebook videos. To do this, just paste the full video link from the browser into your post and add the letter “v” in the “http://” protocol prefix (i.e. httpv:// ):
